’A combination like none other. Brought together thanks to the majestic Twin Queens. A knight. Brave. Virtuous. The knight spent his life honing his craft, speaking up for and defending those who could not do so on their own. But there was something the knight was missing and the Twin Queens knew what that was. So, they gave him just what he needed.’
’The rogue. Cunnin. Manipulatin. Really good lookin. Willin to do whatever it takes to get what he wanted. The knight was a good guy and all, but when it came down to it, he wouldn’t be able to pull the trigger, he couldn’t go that extra step to get the job done. Which was fine, some people are good, through and through, and some people are..not. But that’s okay! The duo balanced each other out. Something they would need for sucha perilous mission.’
’And so, the Twin Queens sent their most valued soldiers with one task and one task alone.’
’To dominate..’
With the voices of ‘The Toku Titan!’ Geki Nitoh and ‘YOUR Favorite Drug’ Xavier Laroux providing narration, the scene picked up to reveal Geki and Xavier themselves as they walked along a winding forest path. Geki wore a suit of polished light armor, enough protection provided to keep him safe while still allowing him to maneuver easily, not hurting his agility. The flashiness of the armor would have made him stick out like a sore thumb, even in the biggest of crowds. On the other hand, Xavier wore what could only be described as rags. Tattered, dirty, barely hanging on in places. With this approach, he could blend into any crowd, giving off the feeling that he was but a mere peasant. And while you were focused upon that, his deft hands would be relieving you of your coin.
After a bit more walking, the duo found themselves coming out of the forest, their destination in sight, at last. With the cover of night giving them the considerable ability to sneak their way to their goal, they ventured deeper and deeper into the town. Suddenly, before they could reach the center of that town, they were stopped by an unknown duo. The male was short and bald with a sneer plastered across his features, mostly resembling a goblin. The female wasn’t much better, pretty much the same minus the breasts and hair.
Before the fight could really get going, the female was launched backwards, her head bouncing off of a metal pole, rendering her unconscious. From there, it was a foregone conclusion, Geki and Xavier found themselves victorious over the first obstacle.
’Having taken the first step on their path to dominance, the two continued weaving through the alleys of the town, making sure to stay off of the guard’s usual route. The two stopped dead in their tracks once they saw what was in front of them. The wicked sorceress and dark wizard. It was then and there that the two of them realized that their true goal wasn’t just to dominate.’
’The Twin Queens wanted the knight and the rogue to save the town from the evil of those two. See, the two goths, they made life miserable for everyone livin in that town. Word of their misery spread like wildfire until eventually it fell upon the ears of the Twin Queens. They knew somethin must be done and they knew that things would end up just like this.’
’However, before the knight and the rogue could launch their attack on the darkness plaguing the town, they were halted once more. Two warriors of blue arrived in a blur, standing between the duo.’
’And now another battle begins. The knight and the rogue against..outdated technology?’
Rather than return to the world of fantasy, the scene picked up on Xavier and Geki as they stood, reading from a script within a recording studio. Pulling the headset off of his head, Laroux made his way out of the booth, Geki soon to follow. The look on Xavier’s face was confusion as he shook his head slowly.
’Who the hell names themself after outdated technology? See, this is the problem when you name yourself after somethin stupid. Look at the Atari today. Total shit. Almost fifty years ago? Atari was still shit. Only difference is, people didn’t know any better back then. Now? I can walk in the fuckin Dollar Store and pick up somethin that blows the Atari outta the water. That’s exactly what happened with California Wrestlin. See, y’all thought Team Atari was good, even had a good bit of fun with it. But now..times is changin. Ya got the new shit steppin into CW and lemme tell you, we’re better than the rest.’
’But we’re not complete barbarians. We can appreciate and respect what the past has accomplished.’
’But that’s just it. Have they really accomplished anythin?’
’Well, I was looking at the championship archives and I don’t recall seeing them on the list of former champions.’
’Ya goddamn right you didn’t see’em on the list. Cause they’re not on it. And y’know why they’re not on it? They’re shit. Just like their namesake, trash fifty years ago, trash today.’
’At Walk of Fame, you two had a chance to accomplish the exact same thing we are trying to accomplish.’
’Going to accomplish.’
After the correction, Geki couldn't help but to laugh a bit, reaching up to rub the back of his head slightly.
’Right, going to accomplish. But regardless. You two took The Dark to its limit. That's a very commendable act, you two should be highly proud of yourselves. Almost thirty minutes, you two fought valiantly. You were a hair away from walking away as the new Republic Champions. Alas, it was not to be. But don't fret! I'm looking forward to facing that same kind of fight from you two when the four of us square off at No Love Lost.’
Geki followed those words with a rapid nod, that childlike smile taking over his whole face. Shaking his head a bit, Laroux scoffed before shaking his head.
’It doesn't matter how Geki tries to dress it up, fact of the matter is, you two are comin off a loss. You two had the opportunity of a lifetime right at your fuckin fingertips and what happened? What did you do with that opportunity? Ya fuckin pissed it away. Ya wasted it. When the stakes were at their highest, all chips on the table, Team Atari..failed. Dropped the ball. Didn't. Get. The job. Done.’
Shrugging his shoulders rather nonchalantly, the words Xavier chose were specifically to rub in the fact he was expressing.
’What did we do at Walk of Fame?
Laroux turned his head, looking to Geki expectantly.
’We won.’
’You goddamn right.’
The smirk of Laroux grew rather largely. With Geki standing by his side, Laroux extending his arms out.
’That whole thing bout the knight and the rogue and the Twin Queens? That's a fairy tale. And that's the only one y'all get cause after we beat, not only Team Outdated Technology, but The Dark too? Then the fantasy becomes a reality and WE become the CW Republic Champions. And let's be honest here. There ain't a goddamn thing any of you can do bout it.’
Before the scene could fade away, Geki quickly took center stage.
’That doesn't mean we have no respect for the people we may be facing. I know for sure they're both going to be highly competitive matches in which everyone involved puts forth an insane amount of effort in order to ensure that each and every one of those fans who spent their hard earned money to come see us, walks away happy, satisfied with the choice me made.’
The whole while Geki was talking, the look of annoyance grew and grew across the features of Laroux.
’Geki is tryinta say is that we're gonna beat the high holy hell outta one team. And once that's done and we're gonna do the same damn thing to The Dark. Iunno what Geki is sayin, respect and the lookin forward to facin them. Lemme say what I'm lookin forward to.’
He slipped around, maneuvering behind Geki before bringing his arms up, presenting Nitoh with a metaphorical sign.
’YOUR WINNERS AND NEWWWW REPUBLIC CHAMPIONS..THE TOKUUU ADDICTION!’
