The screen was black and white as we open up on a close up of the Hollywood Heritage champion, the Living Doll, Britney Anders. Her expression was somber, far from the usual over the top theatrics, this entire vibe was different.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"Addiction is something that people all over the world struggle with. From the most successful businessmen and women, to athletes, to singers and actors, and of course...wrestlers. All walks of life are subject to addiction. The true power comes from within when we choose to fight that addiction. How? Some people use the aid of medication, others prefer open dialogue classes, and then some of us, namely me? We choose to fight the addiction, physically."
Britney holds up both of her manicured hands as a smile crosses her face.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"Make no mistake about it, addiction isn't easy to overcome, but the first step in defeating it comes from within. I chose to bring the fight to one half of the Republic champions and Toku Addiction, of course I'm talking about Xavier Laroux. Not only will I be wrestling him in California Wrestling, but I will be wrestling him in Revo Pro as well, a match that I asked for. See, some people let addiction swallow them. They give up before the fight truly begins, which is why I've been proactive in bringing the fight to you. Sure, I could sit here and tell the world that you're nothing and that this is an easy win, but that would be lying. Lying is something people like Olivia Areano do, you know, the former champion who should have never been able to call herself a champion in the first place. But me? I wouldn't lie, so if we're being honest, Xavier has made nothing but waves since signing here with his little pipsqueak sidekick. The Toku Addiction now sits at the top of the Republic division, but allow me to remind you of something."
The black and white fades to full color now as Britney's worried expression from before is replaced by a confident grin.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"Success can be temporary. Let's look at my most recent opponents. Olivia never truly won the Hollywood Heritage championship from the real champion, me, and when she had to face me in the ring, she talked sooooooo much, but what happened in the end? Just as I said I would, I backed all of my talk up and walked out with MY PROPERTY once again. Her success? Lightning in a bottle. How about Sam Tolson? She won the Pride championship and then lost it to the most overrated, coked up person in all of CW, Brady Vega. If that doesn't scream MAJOR FLOP, I don't know what does!"
Britney laughs, flipping her hair for the camera.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"So Xavier, you winning the Republic titles doesn't mean you will be a long term success story here. Sure, I admitted you've done some great things, but it's all short term. I've been THE success story, not A success story but THE success story of CW from day one. There has never been anyone to generate the talk that I have, that has actually backed it up. Sure, a few people may sign here, win a few matches, and then lose and leave, but the one constant has been THE LIVING DOLL. As a matter of fact, if Kendrick and I choose to come for the gold you and power ranger junior wear around your waists, I can pretty much guarantee that your success, like the others I mentioned, will be short lived. But no need to get ahead of myself just yet, let's focus on Walk of Fame, shall we? What motivates you to win this match? I know the answer. A win over the biggest star this company has ever seen. A win for you puts you atop not only the Republic division, but it shows the inferior management in the company that you're ready to break out on your own and come after the gold around my waist too."
With a roll of her eyes, she continues.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"So we know what you're fighting for, but what does a win against you do for me? That's the trickier question, but the answer is actually quite simple, not that I expect you or Geki to get it right because that would require you to use a non-existent brain, but I'll be generous and tell you. A win over you adds on to my legacy of dominance here. Only the naïve would ignore what you've done around the world and the reputation that you bring with you to CW. I've been told I couldn't survive anywhere else, but you have, and if I defeat you, it puts a dirty sock in the dirty mouths of everyone that thinks I'm only built for Cali. I'm fighting for my legacy, and at the end of the day, that's more important than most championship belts, especially the one you're wearing around your waist."
Laughing, Britney stands up, showing off a beautiful blue dress.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"Xavier Laroux is one of the best signings that CW has made in 2019. He might be the best signing since they signed Kendrick Kross, but the reality is that no matter how good you are, X, can I call you that?"
She mocks him.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"I'm better. No matter how much of an impact you think you can make on the west coast? I AM the WEST COAST. There's no greater impact than Britney Anders. And X'y, while I have your attention? If you try anything crazy in our match, I will make you regret the day that you ever decided to step your dirty behind across the ring from me. I promise you that!"
Britney walks over to the a bookshelf and pulls a book from it's place. She holds the book up for the camera to see as the title says 'Self Help: Ending Addiction'. She dusts it off and then flips through it quickly before dropping it to the floor.
BRITNEY ANDERS:
"Addiction can only cripple you if you allow it, but at Walk of Fame in just under ten days? I end my battle with a Toku Addiction, for good. See you in the ring, X'y."
Anders mockingly waves to the camera as the scene fades to black.
