The scene opened up upon a CW Fan Event. Focus fell upon the CW Republic Champions, ‘The Toku Titan’ Geki Nitoh and ‘YOUR Favorite Drug’ Xavier Laroux. It had been a long day and the duo had spent the most of it signing pictures, merchandise, pretty much anything the fans wanted them to sign. The glazed over look in the bloodshot eyes of Laroux had given off the impression that he had found alternative ways to endure the day.
Now, while Geki loved these types of interactions with the fans, Xavier preferred a more relaxed environment. Combine that with a particular question he had been asked time and time again throughout the event, he wasn’t in the best of moods, to say the least. A male fan, seemingly in his twenties, approached the table with a black ‘YOUR Favorite Drug’ T-Shirt, with the arrow pointing down to the crotch, wanting Laroux to sign it for him. As Laroux was doing just that, the man asked that question that just seemed to irk Xavier.
‘So, how come you two aren’t in the Pride Championship Tournament?’
Slowly, Laroux’s eyes moved up from that shirt, narrowing in on the man who asked that question. Shaking his head, Laroux picked up the half signed shirt, throwing it in the face of that man. Standing up in a huff, his chair falling over backwards in the process, he grabbed his unlabeled water bottle, walking away from the table. There was a bit of a stagger to Laroux’s walk, further revealing his intoxication. Geki shook his head before rising up to a stand as well before rubbing the back of his head.
’Don’t worry folks, give us thirty. I think Xavier might be feeling a little under the weather, haha.’
Those words followed by a noticeably nervous laugh as Geki walked off, hopefully to catch up with Xavier. A few moments later and that very thing happened. Jogging to catch up with him, Geki placed his hand on the shoulder of Laroux, causing his partner to stop in his tracks.
’What’s wrong?’
Laroux shook his head, sighing softly. Before actually giving an answer, he dug around in the deep pocket of those khaki colored cargo pants he wore. Pulling out his cigarettes and lighter, he lit one up, offering one to Geki, who declined it. Returning them to the depths of his pocket, Laroux exhaled a cloud of smoke, shaking his head once more.
’I’m just so fuckin tired of hearin that question. Think I’m not fuckin heated bout that whole situation? Fuck yeah, I am. Think I wouldn’t rather be runnin that whole fuckin tournament instead of facin suck ass Atari? Fuck yeah, I would. This shit legit bothers me,
man.’
A soft sigh slipped from between the lips of Geki as he nodded understandingly.
’I understand where you’re coming from. I really do. Let’s just get through this match and decide what we’re going to do next. We’ve had the Hollywood Heritage Cup and now the Pride Tournament. When’s our big deal?’
With that last question asked by Geki, the eyes of Laroux lit up as if completely shocked he heard those words coming from the kind’ve person Nitoh is. An eager nod of his head was
followed by a hit off of that cigarette before Laroux spoke up.
’Fuckin right man! When’s our big fuckin deal? Nah, we just get fuckin Atari. Like we haven’t beaten them twice already. Like we didn’t send’em back to fuckin developmental like a couple of fuckin chumps. LIKE THEY GOT ANY BETTER IN DEVELOPMENTAL! There’s like nothin different bout them. Same two guys we already kicked the shit outta…twice. Is this a fuckin joke to Management? I mean, fuckin seriously, we just had one hell of a defense against notsoHolier Than Thou and..whatever the fuck Eddo and his olelady are. And what do we get for it? We get bum ass Atari. Whatta fuckin slap to the face.’
’Being in developmental, while not a bad thing at all, usually applies that you become more developed while there. The Team Atari I see is the exact same one we’ve faced on two previous occasions. The team you two defeated could barely be described as that. With each week, we are consistently getting better and better, not only as individuals but as a group as well. I’ve been going through what’s been happening since our last confrontation and where’s your improvement? Doing the exact same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is insanity.’
’It’s fuckin stupid is what it is, Geki. We are better than this. We deserve more than what we’re bein given. But that’s okay. Like my boy here said, we’re gonna handle this match like only we can and then we’re movin on. We’re gonna continue gettin better no matter who is thrown up against us. We are the best goddamn Tag Team in CW and ain’t nobody gonna prove otherwise.’
Slowly, Laroux brought that cigarette up, taking a long hit off of it. Letting his head fall back before exhaling the smoke upwards. Returning his head upright, he shook his head a bit. Geki reached up, running the both of his hands through his hair, pushing it back.
’We’re going to continue to defeat each and every challenge, or lack thereof, you lay out in front of us. While it may be in my nature to keep my mouth shut and be happy with what I’ve got, my partner isn’t as satisfiable. We have a message to send in this match against Team Atari. It’s going to be a message louder than any words could ever be.’
’And that message is simple. It’s the same message we been spoutin since day one. We’re comin for everythin. Step one is complete. We kicked that fuckin door down and we made it be known: We ain’t the ones to fuck with. We are the Republic Division.’
’There’s no denying that. Team Atari stands to gain a lot of credibility in this match. We’ve all seen it. Anything can happen on any given night. But that doesn’t mean we won’t fight with every bit of pride we have in our bodies. We’re going out there and treating this match just as we did our last one at the Hollywood Heritage Festival. Xavier might underplay you two, but once that bell rings, you will get the same intensity and determination that we give each and every night.’
’And that intensity and determination? It’s bouta crash down onto y’all like a fuckin tsunami with no warnin. I know you two are goin into this match, thinkin the same thing we are when it comes to winnin and losin. And that makes me happy. I dig that. I want you two to think you’re gonna win. I want you to put it all out there like you know in your goddamn hearts you’re gonna win. Why, you ask? Cause when we put you two the fuck down like the mangy ass dogs you are, I want you to know, with every bit of truth possible, your best just isn’t good enough. Team Atari just isn’t good enough to hang at this level.’
As Xavier took the final hit off of that cigarette, he dropped it to the blacktop beneath him before rubbing it out with the sole of his boot. Laroux and Nitoh moved to stand side by side with one another before focusing their attention entirely on the man holding the camera.
’We are the Toku Addiction. We are Ying and Yang. As different as it gets. But when that bell rings, none of that matters. We have become the most cohesive unit CW has ever seen.’
’I hope y’all figured somethin out that don’t nobody know bout while y’all was down there. I mean, we’re fuckin adored but you can only see so many reruns before you’re bored outta your fuckin heads. Bring somethin new Atari. See y’all soon.’
Flashing that arrogant smirk, Laroux nodded his head. Extending his arms outwards, Laroux seemingly presented himself to everyone watching before being nudged in the side by Geki.
’Come on, we have to get back out there and finish this signing.’
Nodding his head to Geki, the two turned away from the camera before making their way back out towards the fan event.
’Wonder if that guy is still mad I threw his shirt at’em?’
’Would you care?'
’Nope.'
