"This whole tournament never should have to happen. And it's my fault that it is."
Samantha Tolson-Anderson sits in the back of a limousine, her wife Katie Anderson-Tolson next to her. They're drinking from bottles of water as Samantha speaks into the camera that has joined them for the ride from the airport to the home they own in Malibu.
"You see, I had Brady Vega beaten. More than beaten, actually. He was broken. He was finished. The Pride Championship was right there, all I had to do was pin him. He couldn't have possibly kicked out, because he'd been knocked unconscious."
"But I needed more. I needed him to bleed, needed him to suffer. I needed him to understand that his bile and hatred was at an end, and that he needed to leave my name and my wife's name out of his cesspool mouth."
"I had the CW world in the palm of my hands, and I let it go. But I got what I wanted. I forced Brady Vega to show the entire world the little bitch that he truly is."
"A double under the ring. Rex at ringside, helping him along. Sativa Nevaeh coming down to ringside to unwittingly..."
FINGER QUOTES OF DOOM KIDS!!!!
"...assist, allowing Brady to sneak back out and roll me up from behind."
"Yes, I know Callahan vacated the match. Officially speaking, there was no contest. But my actions have us at this point. I'll accept that responsibility."
"I'll also accept the fact that I've shown every single person inside the CW locker room just exactly what I'm capable of doing if you piss me off enough. Because I promise you this, had Nevaeh not stuck her abnormally large and attention-seeking nose into things, Brady Vega would still be lying on his back in a hospital bed somewhere, his career over by my hands."
"That's where I'm willing to go if needed. My question to you, Hayley Halsey is this....are you?"
"Do you have the temerity to do what you need to do, legally speaking, to procure a victory over the most vicious woman in this company?"
"Because Jack Callahan can say what he wants, but every single thing I did inside that ring to Vega was a hundred percent legal, even in a Pride Rules match. Every last bit of it. And I think that fact appalled old Jack the most."
"That I could use the rules to my advantage and take that pound of flesh from Vega, and he was powerless to stop it."
"So that begs the question, Hayley, again...are you willing to go to the depths of your soul to try and beat me?"
"Because you might need to do just that. This whole tournament may be my fault, but don't think for a single second that I don't intend fully on romping and stomping through whoever is unlucky enough to be in my way to reclaiming the Pride Championship."
Katie pats Samantha on the arm gently, feeling the blood in her wife starting to boil. Samantha sighs for a moment and calms herself, smiling back at Katie before returning her eyes to the camera.
"Don't mistake what I'm saying to you as me dismissing you. You're less than a year into the sport, and despite some hard luck, you've got two title reigns to your name. Someday, Hayley, you may well challenge me for the Pride Championship and even beat me for it."
"That someday, however, is in the future. It's not Sunday night."
"No, Hayley, Sunday night, I begin to pick up the broken pieces of the Pride Championship that I helped shatter. I begin to clean up the mess I made."
"Unfortunately, that has to start with you. I wish it were different, because I like you. I like your spunk, and I like your attitude in general. But we don't always get what we want. Sometimes, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette, as the old saying goes."
"And to fix what I've broken, I have to break you."
"This is nowhere near personal. Not even in the slightest. But it is business. And I'm pretty damned good at handling my business."
Samantha takes a long drink of her water, holding hands with her wife as the limo slows to a stop in the drive of their Malibu home.
"Bring me your best, Hayley. I want you to give me everything you've got. Throw the kitchen sink at me."
The driver opens the door, and Katie steps out, followed closely by Samantha. Katie smiles at Samantha, taking her hand.
"But Sunday night, I start the process of fixing what I've broken. I have no regrets about what I've done. That said, I know you have a dream...a dream to be the next CW Pride Champion."
"Sorry Hayley...but through no fault of your own, I have to shut the door on your dream."
The driver shuts the door and heads back to his seat, slowly backing the limo from the driveway as Katie and Samantha turn their backs to the camera, walking hand-in-hand into their Malibu home.
