The sun had just set in the sky in Honolulu, Hawai’i and the beach was pretty much empty, lit by the glow of the buildings along the shore. Around the Halekulani Hotel, a group of people began to disband after a luau on the beach, heading their separate ways. Two such people were Iconic California Wrestling Alliance Rising Icon, Catriona MacKenzie, and Iconic Professional Wrestling Owner Extraordinaire, Joshua Samson, Esquire. The duo began to walk in a direction away from the rest of the herd, holding their shoes in their hands so that sand didn’t get in them.
Samson: Enjoyed yourself tonight, Catriona?
Catriona: That I did. I’ve always wanted to come to one of these luaus like a cheesy tourist. And I had some great company as well.
Samson: I guess if you like hanging with a middle aged, drunk as hell Executive Representative…
Joshua chuckles to himself.
Catriona: Hey, it's not easy to find someone that keep up to me drinking wise so I can’t say I didn’t have a good time. And age is just a number… you still can drink like a twenty something.
Samson: Tell that shit to my liver. But I must say the times we have hung out you have been very good company as well.
Catriona: I try to anyway. And thanks for bringing me out here… it helped my mental state and allowed me to really relax and appreciate what I have.
Samson: Bringing you out here? Uh….
Catriona: Uh… I mean… Well in a way you did… because if it wasn’t for you signing me and telling me about ICWA I wouldn’t be here.
Samson: It was all you, Catriona. As much as I run my mouth and proclaim myself as THE Executive Representative, it’s always about the talent. Without you, I wouldn’t be where I am. So thank you.
Catriona: Well you do have an eye for good talent… otherwise you wouldn’t be in demand to rep people. And without you I wouldn’t be where I am… literally.
She giggles a little bit before tucking a section of her hair behind her ear.
Samson: Well we could probably go on all night with the compliments, how about we both agree we have been beneficial to each other.
He slows to a stop. She slows as well and nods her head.
Catriona: Agreed… and yeah, we probably could go on and on with the compliments.
Samson: Care to sit here and enjoy the night for a bit?
Catriona: That sounds like it would be a grand ol’ time. That way we don’t have to deal with the herd of overweight, middle aged people heading back.
Always the gentleman while in the presence of a woman, Joshua extends his hand to Catriona in order to help her ease down into the sand to sit next to him. He noticeably doesn’t release her hand which causes her to blush a little bit.
Samson: Soo….
Catriona: A needle pulling thread?
She turns her torso towards him as she extends her legs out in front of her.
Catriona: What’s on your mind?
Samson: Everything. Nothing. What’s on your mind?
Catriona: So much… to the point where I’m glad there’s alcohol in my system or I’d be freaking out right now.
Smiling at her, he strokes her held hand with his other hand.
Samson: I’m not sure how to take that.
Catriona: It’s fine… the longer I sit here, the more at peace I’m feeling.
She looks down at their hands.
Catriona: Just something someone said to me the other day… still stings a little bit. I’ve accepted their apology though… so we’re all good on that front.
Samson: What exactly did this person say that still stings?
Catriona: Calling me a liar, amongst other things, while not believing me when I’ve said it wasn’t true. I know they were drunk… but still hurts a bit. I now can say those things have been said to me by someone drunk and sober. But… I know they’re sorry unlike other times in my past when the person saying them wasn’t.
Josua diverts his eyes to look out to the crashing waves as his grip on Catriona’s hand tightens.
Samson: I...I am sorry, Scotti.
He looks back to lock eyes with her.
Catriona: I’ve said that I forgive you Josh and I do. People tend to say things when they’re drunk… both good and bad. We’ve all been there. I… forgive… you and I mean it.
Samson: I know you’ve said you forgive me but I really need you to know how remorseful I am about that text convo. I wasn’t in my proper headspace and it only got worse when I started drinking as heavily as I did that night.
Catriona: I can tell you are just by the look on your face.
She sighs a little.
Catriona: Now I regret bringing it up because it’s such a sensitive subject.
Samson: Listen to me, Scotti. I don’t want you to regret ANYTHING when you’re with me. You hear me? NOTHING.
Catriona: I’ve not regretted anything so far… not a damn thing. None of the poker nights… random bars visited… Lakers games… NOTHING.
She squeezes his hand as a smile starts to make it onto her face.
Catriona: And most of all I don’t regret coming here.
He leans in closer to her.
Samson: Kiss me then.
Catriona: Gladly…
Catriona smiles before her free hand makes it’s way up to his face. She gently caresses his cheek before leaning in and pressing her lips against his. As they are locked in a sensual kiss, Joshua reaches his hand around her waist and pulls her on top to straddle him as he falls onto his back.
Samson: Are you prepared for everything all the crap that’s going to come from this now? I’m sure by the time we hit LAX everyone and their mommy is going to know.
Catriona: I don’t care… like that gif you like to use says… fuck ‘em. I’m a strong woman and I can deal with the haters. If I could get through the hyenas, your niece not included, I can get through the hate of us. Are you prepared for all the crap?
Samson: I think I am. I mean, I know I’m tired of us hiding what we have. That’s some bullshit.
Catriona: I told you I was willing to wait and if you’re ready… I’m ready.
She brushes some of the hair out of his face.
Catriona: I’m ready to go public… more than. You cannae imagine how much.
He reaches up to gentle grab her behind the neck and guide her down to kiss her passionately again. Her hands held the side of his face gently as they kissed and when she pulled apart from him she was all smiles.
Catriona: I take that as a you’re ready too.
Samson: By all means I’m...oh shit….
Catriona: What? Oh… your estranged…
Samson: Exactly. I know you and I haven’t talked much about her but it is something that will be a major issue for you and me.
Catriona: Well… we can talk about it. But I don’t think you nor I really want to talk about that subject right now.
He reaches up to untie the strap behind her neck of her maxi dress.
Samson: No I definitely don’t. As a matter fact, I really don’t feel like talking anymore.
Catriona: Oh me too.
Without even batting an eye, Catriona leans down and starts to kiss him passionately, her hands still on the side of his head as her hair hangs down over her shoulders to cover her bare breasts. The pair kept their kiss locked in as the scene faded out to black.
