To call the last couple of weeks an up and down slope would have been a severe underestimation. It seemed like for every positive thing that happened, there was a negative to go with it. She wrestled for the Hollywood Heritage Championship and won it - the former champ had the audacity to claim the broadcast was edited, then used horrible actors to fake his own ‘real outcome.’ Her and Sativa tagged together for only the second time ever and came out victorious over Roxi Johnson and Anaquin Adams - they all ended up being doused in blood when the Demoness Maki or Daniela or whatever the hell she called herself, appeared after the bell. Morgan tossed that set of gear. She wasn’t even going to try and get the stains out. Then there was her mother resurfacing after, literally, her entire life to date had passed. Days of talking and discussing plans to meet and get things squared away lead to Morgan flying to Buffalo, New York only to be made more angry at the woman than she had already been her whole life. To say she felt like her mother had replaced her was another understatement.
But the biggest kick in the teeth was something that Morgan picked up on while looking at the card for the next Takeover. Something that she figured Ethan Roerich, CW’s owner probably didn’t think she’d pick up on so easily. Morgan saw it before Sativa did, this time. Morgan Payne and Roxi Johnson were the Hollywood Heritage and Pride Champions of California Wrestling. At Takeover 5, they would face off inside the ring for a title unification match and the winner would become the new Immortal Icon Champion. Morgan knew this was a jab at her and Sativa by Roerich. But an even bigger jab was that Sativa had already been announced as the number one contender to the new title after it was won. The problem there was Morgan had no intention of losing to Roxi Johnson. She would wrestle her. She would beat her. She would become the top name in the company. Then, she would be forced by management to fight her girlfriend. Ethan Roerich, you arrogant, scumbag, asshole. Morgan found herself thinking. She knew Roerich had probably planned this all along and she and Sativa had fallen right into his trap. Oh well, Morgan thought to herself. Fuck that motherfucker!

In front of the camera is an empty chair with a California Wrestling backdrop behind that. The backdrop looks to be soaked down completely in liquid. Morgan Payne comes stepping into frame and sits down in the chair. She’s wearing all black jeans, a Punisher skull tank top and her Timbs. Her neck length hair is slicked back and her eyes are cold. Over one shoulder is the Hollywood Heritage Title. In her other hand is Consuela; her recently acquired barbwire baseball bat she’s started carrying around. Morgan stares hard into the camera and begins to speak.
“I dunno who da fuck ya think ya are, Roerich. Thinkin’ ya can pull a fast one on me da way ya tried. Ya musta rubbed dicks wif Johnny Boncrusher so much, his idea dat I’m jus’ some brainless city girl ended up on ya chin. I may not be da smahtest wif books but I got street smahts. I can see ya fuckin’ bullshit a mile away, Ethan. Roerich. Mr. Roerich. Fuck dat. Ya don’t deserve da respect of bein’ addressed as a symbol of authority. Not even in ya own company!”
Morgan sits back in her chair and pulls a pack of Newports from her cargo pocket. She pops it in her mouth and sparks it up with her zippo before putting both away and taking a deep drag. She stands Consuela up right, resting her hand over the pommel of the bat.
“It’s sad really, how easy I picked up on what was goin’ on. It just shows that, once again, you--”
She lifts Conseula and jabs her at the camera before setting her back down.
“--dunno what da fuck you’re doin’! See, I can sit back and break down exactly how it is, Ethan. You’re pissed off that Sativa embarrassed ya sorry ass publicly. Ya tried to throw ya weight around and it came back to bite you in ya scruffy, homeless lookin’ ass. Why? Because da ‘dumb bitch wif green hair’ as everyone likes ta call her, understands da legal side of things better than you and whatever team of crackpot motherfuckahs you got workin’ for ya! I think dat’s da main reason ya reopened Cee Dubya. Ya don’t give a fuck abaht puttin’ on wrestlin’ shows. Ya still asschapped at bein’ financially ruined and havin’ ya reputation massively shit on dat ya wanna get some kinda retribution. Retribution against da one who exposed you and Cee Dub management for da fuckin’ hacks they are!”
Morgan drags on her cigarette again.
“Mmh. And yanno what da sad paht is? Nobody else on da roster can see it. Nobody left anyway. Maki and her alter ego already fucked off after bleedin’ on me and Boo like a couple of tampons. Least she’s got brains so I’ll give ‘er dat. Anaquin Adams up and left after I put da fuckin’ boots to her ass. So dat’s two dahn. Let’s not forget Daphne James! Ya lost her application so ya jus’ tossed her to da wind and made her hate ya ass before ya thought ta call ‘er! All you’re doin’ wif dis is provin’ one thing: Sativa was right. I was right. We! Were! Fuckin’! Right!”
With each word there, she stamps Consuela against the ground. Sounds like she’s on concrete.
“But ya just don’t know when ta fuckin’ quit, do ya? Which brings me to da next show. Takeover 5. Ya got me takin’ on da other half of da team dat Sativa an’ me beat da fuckin’ bricks off of last show. Only dis time, it’s one on one wif us puttin our titles up to unify them into da same title dat we dug outta da trash and left on Roxi after we beat her ass on your second show and left her wif it as da only title she deserves. But now, you think ya so fuckin’ smaht dat you wanna clean it up and make da two champions of ya warehouse promotion compete for it as da new top title. And if I win, no, ‘scuse me, WHEN I win, I gotta defend da Immortal Icon Title against my own girlfriend. What, ya think dat’s gonna cause a riff between us and you’re gonna get da satisfaction of seein’ us break up? Motherfuckah, news flash. We already faced each other elsewhea! Go watch it!”
Morgan looks down and taps the bat on the ground once more. She looks back up, calmer this time and takes a pull off of her Newport.
“Dis ain’t gonna end da way you’re hopin’, Ethan. Neither for you, Roxi. ‘Oh, let’s make da Immortal Icon Title a traditional wrestlin’ title! Dat’ll throw Morgan Payne off!’”
Morgan wiggles her cigarette hand and makes a sarcastic ‘ooooh so scared’ face before going dead serious again.
“If either of yinz think dat I’m jus’ some street fighter wif a contract to compete in a wrestlin’ ring, yinz have already fucked up. I been trained as a professional wrestler since I was fourteen yeahs old. Second generation and I’m still gettin’ betta! So go ahead and throw more bullshit my way, Ethan. Keep feedin’ me and Sativa ya chosen guns ta try and bring us dahn. Send ‘em my way. Me an’ Consuela’ll knock ‘em outta da pahk. Stahtin’ wif Roxi. Cuz see, it ain’t hero versus villain dis time. It’s gonna be hero...versus anti-hero. I see things a lil more clearly now, Ethan and I realized somethin’. I ain’t da bad guy here. I ain’t da villain. As much as I was ready, willin’ and able ta be, I see now dat jus’ ain’t me. I’m da anti-hero. Da one who has da guts ta do what heroes like Roxi Johnson won’t. She’ll try to stop me but I’mma jus’ knock her back down to Earth and make her stay down an’ watch as I do what needs ta be done. I’m gonna walk inta Takeover 5 as da Hollywood Heritage Champion. I’m gonna walk ahtta there as da new Immortal Icon Champion. Then, Ethan...I’m gonna finally burn dis company ta da fuckin’ ground….”
Morgan adjusts her title on her shoulder and takes one more drag off of her cigarette. She stands from her chair and rests Consuela on her shoulder as she turns and flicks the burning cigarette at the soaking wet California Wrestling banner, causing it to suddenly go up in flames! It was soaked in gasoline! Morgan Payne brings her championship down by her side in her other hand and walks off into the distance.

{We open inside Roxi’s home once again. She sits on a chair, inside the trophy room with the various awards and championships she and her wife have won over the years. She leans forward, her hair dangling in her face the California Wrestling Pride championship rests over her shoulder.}
Roxi – If the goal of Sativa and Morgan two weeks ago was to make me feel pain, then they have accomplished their goal. I felt pain, I bled for the first time in seemingly a long time, and then ended up showered in blood since Maki decided to make her presence felt. It was a setback to say the least.
{Roxi picks her head up, brushing the hair from her face and the stiches from the attack two weeks ago are clearly visible.}
Roxi – I have to now apologize to Ana for making what could have been her last match a less than stellar way to go out. I wish I could have done more for you to make the match more enjoyable. I feel like I let you down, but it was and honor and privilege to stand beside you and fight. I will do my best to make up for not being there when you needed it.
Now, Sativa and Morgan have put a beatdown on me for the past three events and it’s high time that that stop. Sativa now has her championship match all mapped out for her, as she gets to hang back and meet the winner of the upcoming championship unification match between myself, and her partner Morgan Payne.
{Roxi nods and smirks slightly at the mention of her opponents name.}
Roxi – Ms. Payne and her partner have decided I needed to feel pain, pardon the pun, but it seems the goal has been to increase the violence level and the level they are willing to go to in order to achieve victory. But I am no stranger to pain, and no stranger to violence. If you wanted to fight, all you have to do is ask. I don’t necessarily go looking for that level, but when it finds me, I will adjust as needed. Because as you can no doubt see by looking around here…
{Roxi herself looks around as the various championships in trophy cases.}
Roxi – I’m pretty good at adjusting. If you think this the first time I’ve bled, or been beaten up, you are sadly mistaken. If you think beating me up and handcuffing me to the ropes and trying to put me down is going to stop me, then you do not know me very well. Sativa should remember that she tried her hardest to put me down. This isn’t the first time she jumped me with multiple people either. She herself stated that she was bound and determined to finish me really make an example out of me and show everyone that I didn’t have what it took to survive in her world.
But yet, here I am.
Yes, to many, I am just a cockroach and I don’t go away. I always come back, and I come back stronger. I can’t count the number of people who have tried everything in their power to destroy me, and I have withstood them all.
Morgan Payne, is just another name that is on this list now.
{Roxi leans back in the chair, focusing on the Pride championship in her hands.}
Roxi – I have been met with nothing but disrespect ever since I won this championship. I had it stolen, I’ve had it replaced with some other bogus championship, all because people just want to be noticed. But even through all that, and all the beatings, I’ve worn a smile on my face, because I know that they are throwing their entire arsenal at me, and I will, as I’ve always done, persevere. And I’ve walked away, with my head held high.
Taking a look around, none of these championships have come easy. Never asked for it to be easy. I’ve wanted to find the challenge and overcome it. The only thing that has changed are the names and faces, and the battlegrounds. Only now, a familiar face re-emerges. And I welcome that face, despite all she’s done.
{Roxi then leans towards the camera, showing the scar and stitches from two weeks ago.}
Roxi – I hope that Morgan and Sativa are proud of this. This is their handiwork. I can’t say that I’ve had a scar quite like this one before, but I’ve had plenty of scars. And, eventually, they’ll heal. But each and every day for the past two weeks, I’ve had to look at this in the mirror. And it simply reminds me that payback is coming, and it’s going to be collected in full. Starting with Morgan at Takeover.
{Roxi again leans back, taking the championship off her shoulder and looking at it in her lap.}
Roxi – I went through a gauntlet to win this championship. And I wear it with pride, its name notwithstanding. It has been a saving grace in a rather lackluster year for me. And now, the reality is that this championship will not bear any more names. Because this championship unification match means the championship is going away. Morgan Payne is coming to try and take this away from me, and add to her own trophy list. Morgan Payne is going to enter the ring with her championship, and trying to convince you it’s better than mine. Why? Because the guy she beat left the promotion afterwards? So did the guy I beat. It’s nothing to write home about. Morgan can make her case for being a better champion because she’s walked away with her hand raised ever since she’s stepped foot here. Something very few can claim.
But let’s just call a spade a spade, Morgan is more doing this for her partner than she is for her.
Morgan can walk out of Takeover with two championships, and it would set up the perfect little shingdig of Morgan vs. Sativa down the road. And it would just be so perfect for the first defense of the newly christened championship to be between two partners. Set up the fairy tale ending for this whole thing. Let’s just wrap it up in a neat little package.
Unfortunately for them, that is not going to happen.
I have worked too long and too hard to let Morgan Payne get the better of me yet again. Because now, now we’re stilling into the ring, one on one, a fair match for both of us, no outside shenanegins, no partners interfering, none of that. Just me, and Morgan Payne, and I owe Morgan for everything she has put me through for the past month and a half. And I’ve put to memory every single thing done, and now, I get to extract just a tiny, tiny bit of payback. Scars will heal, pain is temporary, but pride is forever. And I refuse to let Morgan Payne walk away with MY championship that’s I’ve worked so hard to enrich, and they have done everything to disparage. My hard work isn’t going to be in vain.
{Roxi seems to be getting a bit worked up, but she stopped, and takes a breath, and a long sigh.}
Roxi – But then I remember that Morgan hasn’t been doing this very long. And while it’s impressive that she is the Hollywood Heritage champion, and it’s not something I’m taking lightly, I remember the time that I was in her shoes. Not really that long ago, I was eager to open eyes and make people notice me. I was hungry to get to the top as quick as possible. And then, I ran into people that took me places that I never knew where out there. They made me think about the way I went about things. And while I don’t expect to reach Morgan on any personal or professional level, I will try my damnedest to make her understand one thing.
I am not who you try and make your name off of.
Because I’m going to take Morgan to those same places, and that youth and inexperience, will show. It will stick out like a sore thumb. She’s going to learn a very painful lesson, and we will find out if Morgan Payne is as good at taking the punishment as she is as dishing it out. She’s going to get outwrestled, she’s going to get outfought, and she’s going to get out-willed.
I’m going to give Morgan Payne everything she’s been looking for in a fight, and I’m going to walk away the California Wrestling Immortal Icon champion. And that will be step one.
Step two, is taking down Sativa.
They may have started this conflict, but I will be the one who finishes it.
See you soon.
{With that, the scene fades as Roxi tosses the championship back over her shoulder.}
