{Our scene opens up inside of Roxi’s home. The Christmas tree is still up and still decorated, despite the holiday being over. Roxi is seated next to the tree, a sort of half smile on her face as she looks back under the tree for a moment, and then back to the camera.}
Roxi – Hello California Wrestling fans, I hope you and yours all had a happy and wonderful holiday season. For me, this year hasn’t been the best, but at the end of the day, I had the opportunity to end 2019 with two championships, and unfortunately for me, while I won one, I lost another.
{Roxi’s warm half smile now disappears as she takes a more serious tone.}
Roxi – Now I don’t mind getting beat, it happens to the best of us. What I do mind, is that Sativa was the person who did it. I mean, I suppose that I should say that Sativa, with the help of Morgan Payne, is the reason I am not the Immortal Icon champion anymore. And it is particularly embarrassing because it was my first defense. And it bugs me to no end that I should have been able to beat Sativa. It just always seems to be that situations arose, not allowing me to properly focus on Sativa. I should have been better, but I wasn’t. Now, I could have sat here and blamed Morgan Payne, and by all rights I would be justified, but no, I will not belabor the point. All I want to do now, is refocus and take back the Immortal Icon championship.
{Roxi brushes the hair from her face and continues.}
Roxi – I don’t want to be known as a person who settled. No, that part of me is no longer looking at the silver lining in everything. Yes, I was the first Immortal Icon champion and yes, nothing will ever change that. Sativa can walk around like she owns the place and try and run roughshot over it, but I will not allow that to happen. No, not this time, I’m not allowing this nonsense that happened elsewhere, to happen here. I tried to be the nice, giving human being, and despite the interference and the constant attacks, and everything that was said, that I still tried to be the bigger person and shake Sativa’s hand.
I will not be making that mistake again.
I tried to make this a better place. But I guess so long as Sativa gets to be the bully, everything is okay. So long as she calls the shots, everything is okay. But we’re not playing by that anymore. That’s 2014 all over again. I mean, think about this, Sativa actually was able to beat me on her own in 2014, and now, she needs Morgan to help her? She needed help to take that championship from me. And of course, she’s walking around with her nose in the air now. Now everything is great and nobody can stop her.
I for one, beg to differ.
{Roxi slowly stands up, taking a step forward.}
Roxi – Sativa knocked me down, but as she should know by now, she can’t keep me down. I’m getting right back up, and I’m stepping right back into her face. Because this nonsense has to end. And the absolute best way to start that process, is to reclaim the Immortal Icon championship from her. I’m already embarrassed enough that I’m 0-2 against her, so now, now it’s time that I’m taking this stand. This one, right here, right now. This Hollywood boulevard brawl is now life and death to me. It means everything. I have been beat down, I have been attacked, I have been beaten and battered. So now, I’ve essentially been backed into a corner. And I am coming to fight.
Now just fight, but win.
Sativa walks into this match with everything to lose. She’s the one who put me here. She’s the one who talked about incredibly short championship reigns. And now, the opportunity is there, for the tables to turn. She will learn very quickly you can walk out of 2019 with 5 championships, and you can start off 2020 down to 4. Because I’m aiming to not only take that championship from her. But to start her downfall altogether. Last time, I didn’t get the chance to actually pay her back for all the bullying, all the cheap shots and all the disrespect. And I foolishly believed that maybe that she actually changed. But no, my gut feeling was the correct one. Sativa slapped on a fresh coat of makeup and hair dye, but deep down, nothing, not one thing about that vile person from 2014 has changed. Nothing. So, now that I know that and it has clearly been confirmed to me…
Now? We can really get this fight started properly.
{Roxi actually smirks. An eager smirk as she cracks her fingers and her neck.}
Roxi – The more that I stop and think about the events of December 12th. The more disgusted I become. I look back and I wonder what the heck actually happened to me? The more that I think about it and all that happened that lead to that. I have to wonder what the hell I was thinking at the time. Because this is Sativa. This isn’t someone who I was dreading facing, this isn’t someone that is a “villain” to me. Because Sativa did hit all the cliches she could. Heroes and villains because comic books and I’m a superhero so she has to be a villain and it’s all old hat. I’ve heard it probably 100 times in my career. the names and faces change, but the idea remains the same. So yeah, the more I think about this, the more I stop and just find it all the more unacceptable. I don’t blame Morgan Payne, I blame myself. I allowed that nonsense to get in my head and get the best of me.
Now? I’m going to make it right.
Sativa isn’t a villain. She just thinks she is. She is the equivalent of a difficult video game boss. One that you just can’t get past, you try and you try and you fail. But you don’t give up You keep coming back until you win! And when you finally beat one of those? The feeling of accomplishment is worth the hardships
And to be honest, I don’t really care one way or the other about fining people or outside interference in this instance. I just want to fight Sativa Naveah.
No more being the victim. No more taking this for granted. No, one more time, not the first, or the last time, but one more time. I have to let that part go, and unleash with everything. I have been knocked down, and now I’m standing up, and I’ve taken your best shot. So are you ready for mine? Because I’m coming to fight Sativa, and I’m coming to knock her down and out
Sativa cannot take away that I was the first champion. She can make any claim she likes, I’m in the record books. Sativa can’t take away my accomplishments and I will add to my own legacy at her expense and add yet another accomplishment. I tried to be nice about this. I wanted this to be a civil thing and at the end there wouldn’t be this lingering feeling of disappointment on either end. But this is where we are now. So, with all that, I’m coming to Hollywood to wipe the floor with Sativa. To pound her into the ground until she is a green grease spot and become the two time Immortal Icon champion.
{Roxi turns back, sweeping her hand and arm to the tree behind her.}
Roxi – And as you can see, the gifts are all passed out. Laughs and family togetherness were had. It was the holidays and I tried my best to enjoy them and my family made it a good holiday. There was only one thing missing. Not being Immortal Icon champion almost ruined my holiday. So now, I know it’s late but there’s still one last thing I need. One more Christmas wish to come true.
It’s a simple request, really very simple.
{Roxi kneels down and reaches under the tree,reaching deep and removing one last gift.}
Roxi – This gift. This one right here. I normally am the one handing out gifts, but this one? This one I want just for me. This one, when I get just a small measure of revenge and dethrone Sativa and restore the sanity to California Wrestling. This present, is to both me, and California Wrestling.
I will be the new champion.
I will not let you down.
{With that, Roxi walks off screen with the present in her hand, and we fade to black.}

Journal of the Whills
Volume 4
CHAPTER 5
Facti sunt mihi mortem, Pestifer Mundi.
Here we are. The first California Wrestling show of twenty twenty. Sativa Nevaeh, the self-proclaimed Dark Lady of the Sith, starts the year with the Immoral Icon title. She beat Roxi Johnson at the last major event of twenty nineteen. She once again was champion in California.
A two-time Immortal Icon Champion. Defending against the very woman she won it from. Nothing that will phase Sativa. She will do what she always does and go out and prove why she is the best. Show Management that they are fucking with the wrong woman.
This is her stage to play at. She shall show everyone, once and for all, why she calls herself a Dark Lady of the Sith. She will show why she does, in fact, rule in California Wrestling. She will show her empire who exactly is in charge...
“What happened Roxi? Huh? I thought you were gonna hold onto this title for a long long time?” Sativa adjusts the Immortal Icon Title on her shoulder. She starts pacing back and forth slowly in front of those old-time computer banks. The kind you see in movies and shows from the sixties and seventies. “Seems like I put a little kink in that plan, huh? Kinda depressing on your part though.”
“You talked such a big game, Roxi! You went on and on about how you were gonna be this shining light, a beacon of hope, in California Wrestling. Yet the moment the darkness showed the slightest bit of backbone, gave just enough resistance that you knew it would fight back for life and death, you crumpled. Pro wrestling’s resident Superhero couldn’t make their stand.” Sativa chuckles and shakes her head.
“Last time you were out here running your mouth about me you decided to give everyone a history lesson. You would think that if you knew so much about me you could have beaten me. That you could have kept your title longer than one event. That you could have been the superhero you think you are.” Sativa scoffs. “But here we are. Once again facing off only this time you are the challenger. You are the one fighting against me, fighting against the darkness. But you don’t get it. Go ahead and try and bring up my past like it’s gonna bother me. Like I wasn’t the one to fucking live it.”
“You see though, Roxi, that’s where you and I differ. I am so different from who you think you know. But you, Roxi, you are the same thing. Still that child with stars in her eyes. The wannabe superhero trying to fight the good fight. You think you are something akin to Supergirl. You think you can have bomb after bomb dropped on you and you can keep on fighting. If that’s what you want, might as well just call me Oppenheimer.”
“But then that would make you Japan, wouldn’t it Roxi? But, unlike them, you aren’t smart enough to stop after two. So here we are, me preparing to drop a third bomb on you. Had you been smart enough to just walk away I would have let you be. But no, you are here once again. Only this time, despite management’s preferential treatment of you, you are in a match that’s right up my alley.” A smirk curls up Sativa’s lip. “You see, I’ve sort of made a name for myself in extreme and hardcore style matches. Two of the FIVE titles I hold around this business are for this exact kind of thing. So, despite management saying its ‘anything goes but…’ bullshit, I think the odds are even more in my favor here. You see, I can live up to my nature here. Whereas you are stuck.”
“Do you stick to your morals? Keeping this match between just you and me? Will you even the playing field? Or will you give in to your baser desires? Will you covet my title enough to ask your wife or Mary Sue for help? What will your little boy think of his momma if you do that? Will he still look up to you as some perfect idol? Or will you keep it secret from him? Never let him know his perfect angel of a mother has a black mark against her.”
“So what’s it gonna be Roxi? Hmmm? Hero or Champion? Which is it going to be? Because I can guarantee it can’t be both. You are oh and two against me Roxi. You ain’t gonna beat me in my preferred style of match. Not unless you tarnish that pearly white armor of yours. Your time to choose is coming, Roxi, a lot sooner than you would want. You are at a crossroads. Hero or Villian? Moral victory or title victory?” Sativa lifts her hands as if weighing the choices. “Or will you hang your head and not show up at all? No, that won’t happen. You don’t have it in you to not not show up. You have to much Pride. You HAVE to show up, even when you know you are going into a losing situation. It’s that hero mentality. Stand up to the evil until it is beaten or you can’t stand anymore.”
“This time, it will be the latter. I will beat you down Roxi. I will put you down for the third and final time. You had your little fun at the top. But, it’s time to let the adults handle things now. Go and have your little adventures in your comics. Become the inspiration for an entirely new comic. Hell, even a Netflix Series. Go be the hero that way. Go make them big bucks to secure a good life for your kid. Don’t try and be the hero here. Don’t take this leap of faith.”
“You. Will. Fall.”
“I don’t say that to be mean, I say that out of kindness. I am doing you a favor here Roxi. Swallow your pride, don’t show up. I’m sure you don’t want Keria to have to raise your little boy as a single mother, do you? Because that is what will happen if you keep this up.” Sativa stops her pacing. “Roxi, please listen to me. Take my offer. I am letting you walk away, scot-free. You won’t get such mercy during our match.”
Sativa rubs her hands together. Her appearance becoming somewhat darker. As if disturbing thoughts are running through her head. “I will force this match to be your swan song. I might even apologize to SCW for destroying their Bombshell champion. Who knows, I might even add that title to my growing list. Set it right next to your career.”
“You see, Roxi, I am in my prime this time. This is like taking on a great white in the ocean. A tiger in the jungle. This is my home, Roxi. This is what I live for. This is what I do. Another analogy that I know you will get. I am Bane and you are Batman. I was born in this. You merely adopt it from time to time. And just like Bane, I will use this opportunity to break you. Because, you see, you don’t really know me as well as you thought you did.”
“Think that I am someone new. That I am this better person. That I rose above my former allies. Well, in a manner of speaking I did. But not the way you like to think, Roxi. I am still me at heart. I am the one who will do ANYTHING to succeed. That should be obvious to anyone by now. But obviously not. So, I will show you. You will see, first hand, exactly what this Dark Lady of the Sith can do. Because you shall not be the one to end my long and glorious reign. And where when you said that, it was hollow and meaningless. When I say it, it carries the weight of my meaning and determination. Because my reign shall be long, Roxi. And after Takeover, you will be just a footnote in its history.”
Sativa grins that sinister grin of hers. The room she is in is suddenly filled with static. A females voice takes over for the static in a slow countdown.
